Randwick local, Dr. Clara Vuletich is a sustainability strategist and designer who is passionate about driving positive change in the fashion and textile industry.
She has over 10 years of experience in the UK and Europe and is an expert facilitator and trainer of sustainable design innovation in industry and education.
Clara holds a PhD in sustainable textile design by MISTRA Future Fashion (Sweden/UK). This ground-breaking programme was a consortium of Swedish fashion industry, government and research partners investigating recycled yarns, textile waste systems, design, consumer behaviour and policy.
She now runs a strategy and training consultancy working with large and small Australian fashion brands including Country Road Group, Sussan and Spell. She speaks and facilitates at conferences and panel events, was a speaker at TEDX Sydney in 2016, and is a trusted source in the Australian and international media
The panel will consist of 4 creative makers in different industries – fashion /accessories, furniture and glass. We will explore the concept of making meaningful purchases for every day life that support human making capabilities as well as being kind to the the environment. The panellists are Veronica Eulate from sovereigncollection.co, Kiran Deol from designweaver.com.au, Tanya Reinli from upcycledglassware.com.au and Maria Isventkina from herclolab.com.
Upcycle Recycle Design Studio brings together a range of small creative businesses in a multi-faceted creative event designed to pique community interest in the possibility that useful hand made ‘High Design’ for our everyday needs in fashion, accessories, homewares and furniture can co-exist with Upcycle and Recycle philosophies.
The retail gallery space will be showcasing a range of micro businesses that make use of vintage and waste materials.
